During the SRR Equestrian License Weekend, you can get your equestrian license in one weekend. For riders who ride a lot outside the equestrian center grounds, the rider’s license is indispensable, as it indicates that the rider has learned to ride safely and responsibly outside.
If there are too few participants, the date of the equestrian license weekend may be rescheduled.
Requirements for participants:
- minimum age 12 years
- minimum dressage level B, F7 or D7
- mastery of the illuminated seat
- some jumping experience
- outdoor riding experience
- Knowledge of general traffic rules
Once you register as a participant for the Ruiterbewijs and have paid the deposit, you can go through and learn the theory on the SRR website. For more information about the Ruiterbewijs, visit the site of the SRR-nederland.nl. On this website you will also find trial exams.
The cost for a Ruiterbewijs weekend is € 382,50 per person, for Poelenburgh members with riding horse € 360 for members with own horse € 350 (this includes overnight stay, breakfast, 2x lunch, dinner, practice lessons, exam fee and theory).

It is possible to bring your own horse during the Riding License Weekend. If you mention this on the registration form, we will make sure that a box is free when you arrive. There is no extra cost for this.

What do you need to know and be able to do for the Equestrian License?
Mounting and unmounting, grooming the horse. Sitting properly balanced, both in dressage, jumping (lightened seat) and outdoor riding. Having horse under control, jumping a cross and a steep jump, passing obstacles correctly. Knowing and being able to apply the theory from the books (theory is online). Riding with one hand, passing each other.
The theory exam of the SRR Equestrian License consists of 35 multiple-choice questions, of which at least 28 must be answered correctly.The theory is now available online

The practical exam consists of riding on outdoor terrain and taking an outdoor ride. You must know and use the rules for riding on public roads in practice. Among other things, an obstacle exercise is ridden on the outdoor terrain, as well as an oxer jump. The riders’ confirmed seat and balance will also be assessed during the Rider’s License exam.
