We offer a variety of internships for different levels of education.

We are continuously looking for interns to join our team. We have approximately 100 horses. Of which 60 are boarding/lease horses and 40 are riding horses and ponies.

During the internship period, common duties include:

  • Daily care of the horses
  • Light stable work
  • Saddling and preparing the ponies and horses
  • Lunging
  • Toilet
  • Rig maintenance
  • Putting horses in the mill/paddocks
  • Assist in training young horses (with sufficient experience and by agreement)
  • Riding the horses (with sufficient experience and by arrangement)

In addition to these standard duties, we have many fun activities to which you will contribute:

  • Assisting at children’s parties
  • Assist at events (open days and game days), equestrian camps, KNHS and M&RB competitions.
  • Guiding outdoor rides (rider’s license required)
  • Grooming at competitions.
  • Teaching children and adults the principles of horseback riding

Organizing an event could be an internship assignment.

We offer internships for both MBO (BOL/BBL) and HBO students. Obviously for the equine studies (e.g., Animal & Management, Equine Husbandry and Management or Agricultural Business Administration) we have a connecting internship, but also for the study stable employee/horse caretaker or prospective instructor(trice).

We also have opportunities to stay in-house. Bringing a horse is negotiable.

Are you looking for an internship where you do not have to fatten up all day and where you are not a number? Can you work independently and do you know how to tackle things? Then maybe an internship at Poelenburgh is something for you!

Then apply now using the application form. In your message, please include your age, phone number and education.

We are an approved learning company.

We also have opportunities for an internship in hospitality (level 1 and 2), it is best to email about this.
